"You want a Christmas card?....Here's your Christmast card!"

For those of you who never watched Seinfeld you will not get the title to my post....lol. Anyway, I ordered photo Christmas cards this year to mail out to everybody. Well I just got them in the mail today and I was extremely disappointed in the turn out. Rather than sending them out and feeling like I wasted my money I decided to return them and just wait until next year to do them. So Merry Christmas to all my friends and family. I hope you all enjoy this magical time of year!

Merry Christmas!

Here is the clip from Seinfeld that I was referring to...

Polar Express....

My new favorite Christmas movie is "The Polar Express." I LOVE the music in this movie and I just think it represents the true magic of Christmas. Ever since seeing this movie I thought it would be fun to go on the Polar Express train ride up in Heber. We went last friday and it was so much fun! However I don't think it would have been nearly as fun if we didn't have little children with us. My niece was super cute and excited the whole time. When she saw the train she would say "choo choo." At one point in the ride we looked outside to see Santa waving at all of the kids. It was more like a scene from a Halloween movie since Santa was surrounded by a bunch of red glowing lights. Erin was really concerned about Santa being outside and kept saying "Santa side, Santa side?" (side meaning outside). But Santa eventually made it onto the train and gave all the little kids bells. They also served yummy hot chocolate and cookies! We had a blast and I would definitely pay the money to do it again!

Can you tell she is excited?

"Santa side?"

They read the book to us.....

Family fun.....

Yesterday my family thought it would be fun to get together and make gingerbread houses! I have always made gingerbread houses out of graham crackers so I was a little intimidated to make my own gingerbread. It was a bit of a pain to make (because I am a little challenged when it comes to cooking) but it turned out great! My mom and Amy were the only ones that bought the kits from the store....cheaters! Billy was supposed to help me with the house but got distracted when we showed up at Bryan and Camille's and the Jazz game was on TV. So Camille and I partnered up since her gingerbread broke :( Here are the results:

Our creation

Camille made me a Bella out of gum drops, she is even peeing on a tree....sooo tender!

Tricia and Jared made a log cabin

My mom's train

Billy and Bryan watching the Jazz game and Erin giving me her fake smile...lol

There was a moment where our gingerbread house was almost destroyed because the table collapsed, but Camille with her cat like reflex's saved our house! Good times.

The stockings are hung....

I have been super excited to decorate for Christmas this year since this is our first Christmas in our house. I never really got into decorating for it before when I lived in an apartment. Thanksgiving night Billy's parents came over to our house to hang out with us. Peggy and I decorated the Christmas tree that is in our basement family room. It was a lot of fun! We watched "Polar Express" and "The Holiday", we also drank yummy hot chocolate. Thanks again Peggy for your help! The following night I decorated the living room and also rearranged the furniture. I am pretty pleased with the turn out. Billy still needs to decorate his tree and put some new lights on it since some of them don't work...lol. My mom also gave me a bunch of decorations that she had, some of which she made herself (she painted the Santa Clause hanging on my wall). Can I just say I love Christmas time!!!!!

My mom gave me this nativity scene, I used to play with it as a child so I was super excited that I got it!

Millcreek hike...

Last friday I had the day off and I decided I wanted to go for a hike. I looked up on the internet places that I would be able to take dogs. Come to find out that all of the trails up Millcreek canyon are dog friendly. So I took Bella with me and we went on a four mile hike and it took us about two hours. I was impressed with how well my little pug did! P.S. I didn't take Abby because she does not do well with long distance.

Christmas is coming.....

I bought Christmas decorations today, but I'm not done yet! Here is my cute little stash so far:
Now I just have to get my husband to hang up the lights. I think he has a very special friend that may want to help him with this task, you know who you are :)

Equality for all....

Saturday I went with my Aunt Liz and Aunt Kathy to the Proprosition 8 protest. It was a good experience as well as an eye opener. I have never been to a protest before so I had no idea what to expect. When we first arrived there were only a few people, and as the music started the people started coming in the masses. It was honestly a very peacful rally, good music and good speeches. I was looking around at the crowd and I could just see the love between all of the couples and how much they desire to have the same rights as everyone else. As the crowd started to march we walked by a truck load of people yelling hurtful chants one of which was "Shame on you!" There was absolutely no love in that truck and it was a very icky feeling walking by, looking these people in the eyes and seeing nothing but hate. I know how it made me feel to see and hear what this truck load of people were saying, but I can't even imagine how it made my Aunts feel. I turned to my Aunt Liz and said, "I can't believe this," and her response was "Welcome to our world." I just don't understand how there can be so much hate. I just want to tell my Aunts that I love you and support you fully, and to remember that change will happen and "the sky will not fall chicken little!"

Stop staring at my lip

My biggest fear of my wedding day was that I would have a huge cold sore. Luckily this did not happen because I overdosed on my medication. Well I think the herpe gods were out for revenge and cursed me with the biggest cold sore EVER! Since I did not get one for my wedding it decided to come for my sisters wedding instead. My whole upper lip was swollen and I looked ridiculous. So I am sorry my cute sister for ruining all of your beautiful wedding pictures with Mount Herpe on my upper lip. The other thing that sucks about having a growth on your lip is no one wants to say anything, they just stare at it. I would just feel so much better if people would ask me, "What's up with your face?" then have them stare at my lip instead of my eyes while speaking to me. Ugh! Anyway it is getting better, the swelling is gone and now it just looks like I ate chocolate and I got some on my lip. Enough about me,Congrats Tricia and Jared on your marriage. It was such a beautiful day and I wish you both the best!

Here is a picture Camille took of me at the temple, trying to hide my hideousness.

My dog is a genius.....

My dog Bella will bark at pretty much any animal she sees or hears on T.V. It can actually be quite annoying at times because we have to change the channel or she will not stop. Well Billy told me about a week ago a particular commercial came on when Bella was in the other room and she came running in the family room when she heard the music. This commercial has a dog in it of course. I didn't really believe it until the other night. Bella was asleep under some covers and this same commercial came on and she jumped out of the covers and charged the T.V. It was crazy! She knows that when she hears that song she will see the dog on the T.V. I found the commercial on you tube to do some testing. Sure enough every time I hit play she would freak out. What a smart puppy :)

Here is the commercial.....

Don't you hate it.........

When people take embarrassing vidoes of you? Billy has finally retired his NCAA College football game an moved on to boxing. I had to record him as he tried to make the guy on the tv move just like him. Isn't he cute?

Notice how he realizes he was caught? Dork :)

So much to talk about...

Over the past month a lot has happened. There was a wedding, a wedding shower, a baby shower and someone got preggers (no not me.....sigh), oh and a promotion. So instead of boring you all with a long paragraph of the past events I've created a little slide show for each one.

First up Aubrie and Ron got hitched! Here are some pictures I took of their big day! Included in this slide show are some pictures of we took of ourselves at their wedding with some statues that were outside of the reception center.

Next up my cute sister is getting married on Nov. 6. We threw her a "Naughty or Nice" shower. For our game we gave everyone a roll of toilet paper and if they had devil horns on they had to make a risque lingerie outfit. If they were wearing a halo they had to design a wedding gown. The outcome was hilarious. Tricia got some interesting gifts as well.....hee hee!

The baby shower was for my friend Tanji. She is having a baby boy! Congrats friend!

To put an end to this post, my sister-in-law is preggers and I am hoping its a boy. And as for the promotion, that would be my news. I moved departments at work back in May to Student Loans. About three weeks ago they promoted me to School Relationship Manager. Basically I create relationships with schools that we work with and also market ourselves to schools we wish to do business with. I will eventually get to travel to conferences to market ourselves as well. I am very excited about this position because I no longer work in a call center enviorment! YEAH!

Billy's exciting news ****** He graduates in May 2009 and with his class they get to travel outside of the country to tour companies and see how they operate. He found out two weeks ago that he will be going to Budapest and Prague for two weeks! He is super excited and I am super jealous because I have to stay home all alone :(

OH and ONE more thing.....my sister and her fiance went to my mom's house for dinner a few weeks ago and this is what we saw when they walked in.....

Oh we all had a good laugh. I guess the couples that dress together stay together. We love you guys though! Thanks for the laugh!

I DO....

Here is another clip of the last ten minutes of our ceremony. Don't worry I fell asleep too while watching it. :)

Nice moooves.....

We got our wedding video back a couple of weeks ago. I thought I would post a ten minute clip of everyone making a fool of themselves. Enjoy :)

Refridgerator-Rator!

The few of you who have been over to our house have probably laughed when you went into the kitchen because you saw this.......

Well I am excited to say that we have FINALLY purchased a fridge and I am so excited! Not only excited to have a normal size fridge, but to be able to eat something other than cereal and peanut butter and jelly sandwhiches. When you have a small fridge like this its hard to find a place to store left overs. There was pretty much room for milk, jam, a few drinks...and that was it.

Here is the fridge we bought. We get it on Thursday....Yipee!

Slumber Party!

All last week I had been so excited for the weekend to come because I got to have my niece Erin over for a slumber party! It was her first night away from home and she did so well. We had put her in our guest bedroom which is right next to our bedroom. Bryan and Camille told me to have a night light for her because she gets scared. The only thing I had was a light that was neon blue. Needless to say she did not like that and instead of comforting her it freaked her out more. We ended up putting her in the living room and turned the porch light on and she fell right asleep. I could not have asked for a more perfect house guest. She behaved so well. My brother and Camille have raised a great kid and I hope I turn out to be great parents like they are. Anyway I love my cute little niece and I can't wait to have her over again. Thanks Bryan and Camille for letting me have her for the night. Below are some pictures I took of our fun weekend.

OH....and while Erin took her afternoon nap I made my first Amish friendship bread! Now a normal person would not be excited about making bread, but I have never done it before so I was pleased with the outcome. It tasted delicous. It may not look all pretty or Martha Stewart like, but I was proud of the outcome with it being my first attempt at it. Thanks Elizabeth for giving me the starter!
